The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the best things I’ve ever done in life. It was an incredible experience. The trek challenges you both physically and mentally, but rewards you richly with some of the most incredible landscapes you can lay eyes on, as well as an immense sense of achievement when you arrive at base camp on day 8.
The itinerary for the trek was as follows;
Day 1 – Kathmandu to Phakding
Day 2 – Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Day 3 – Acclimatisation day in Namche Bazaar
Day 4 – Namche to Tengboche
Day 5 – Tengboche to Dingboche
Day 6 – Acclimatisation day in Dingboche
Day 7 – Dingboche to Lobuche
Day 8 – Lobouche to Everest Base Camp via Gorak Shep
Day 9 – Gorak Shep to Pheriche
Day 10 – Pheriche to Kenjuma
Day 11 – Kenjuma to Monjo
Day 12 – Monjo to Lukla
I booked through Gadventures and would definitely recommend them for the trek. Click below to visit their website.
The trek takes you along a route often referred to as the “the steps to heaven,” and it’s a well earned name. Every bend in the trail provides another photo opportunity — beautiful forests, stupas, sherpa villages, glacial moraines and of course, some of the biggest mountains in the world, including the big one – Everest.
Here is my Everest Base Camp experience through the lens of my camera.
